"You betta step yo' p*ssy up", commands RuPaul on his latest collaboration with Dave Audé. That's right hunties, Ru is back with a sickening new album to coincide with the premiere of the new season of RuPaul's Drag Race on Logo and OutTV on March 2nd. We all know that nobody makes hotter club music better than Ru, and Realness is no exception. Bursting with early nineties house beats, Realness takes cues from Kiesza and the current invasion of house music on the dance/club charts.

The soaring title track and lead single, The Realness, marks the strongest point on the album and sees RuPaul once again collaborating with legendary house producer, Eric Kupper, who produced RuPaul's debut, Supermodel of the World, in 1993. This record also sees RuPaul reuniting with Frankmusik, Clairy Browne, Lady Bunny and fellow Drag Race judge and former Celebrity Big Brother UK finalist, Michelle Visage, leaving behind a collection of dance music slayage in their wake.

If you regularly listen to RuPaul's What's The Tee podcast, you'll recognize some of the reflections and life advice RuPaul shares on the serene interludes dispersed throughout the album. While this album is not quite as strong as last year's Born Naked, being that a couple of the tracks are just new mixes of previously released songs, there are still several moments of brilliance throughout. If you're a fan of RuPaul or just a fan of electronic dance music, Realness, is a sickening collection of club bangers that are sure to be essentials in your music library.
