Iconic Canadian singer-songwriter, Joni Mitchell, was hospitalized earlier today and is currently in intensive care, according to a release on her website.
“Joni was found unconscious in her home this afternoon,” said a statement on the Mitchell website. “She is currently in intensive care undergoing tests and is awake and in good spirits.”
It isn't immediately clear what illness the Both Sides Now singer has, but it is known that she suffers from a rare skin condition which prohibits her from performing.
Mitchell, 71, started her career as a street musician before moving to Southern California where she became a part of a blooming folk music scene. Mitchell's most recent studio album was 2007's Shine, which was released to accolades from critics and fans alike.
