I Can't Breathe

While there's nothing wrong with bubblegum pop music about heartbreak and letting loose on the dance floor, I believe that socially-charged music is so important. Especially right now in the context of the state of the world. The women of Pussy Riot are brave and fearless and I applaud them for raising their voices in the face of the persecution they have endured.

Their debut english single, I Can't Breathe, references Eric Garner's death at the hands of NYPD officers in Staten Island last July. The dark video shows Pussy Riot's Nadya Tolokonnikova and Masha Alyokhina dressed in the uniform of Russia's OMON riot police, being buried alive. Very powerful visuals and messaging.

What do you think of the video's message?
