My Hollywood heart is broken!!!! *tears* My favourite celebrity couple is getting a divorce! On August 3rd 2015 pop singer and fashion designer Gwen Stefani filed for divorce from her husband of 13 years (and on-again-off-again boyfriend before that) Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale. The couple got married in both LA and London in 2002 and have since had three sons together - Kingston, Zuma and Apollo. In a statement for US Weekly they released together they said:
"While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment...To that end, we respectfully request privacy from the media during this time."
Over the years there have been many ongoing rumours of Gavin's "bisexual" past having relationships with other men and even having a daughter with Pearl Lowe which was a shock to both him and Gwen. There was also rumours that Gwen's 2004 song "Danger Zone" was written about that incident. Looking back there have been a lot of worrisome lyrics over the years from both singer/songwriters...some that come to mind are Gwen's "Early Winter" and "4 In The Morning" from 2007's The Sweet Escape as well as No Doubt's 2012 songs "Undercover", "One More Summer" and "Undone". She's always been such an honest songwriter and I love that about her.
There has also been nasty rumours of their divorce NOT being very 'civil' and costing around $115 million dollars.... I don't buy it yet, they've always been very private and not so dramatic like that. But they were also seen together as recent as August 15th with their boys at Funzone in Newport Beach having a good time. Gwen is on this upcoming season of The Voice and a new solo album is still pending a release date. Maybe there will be some more telling songs about the divorce on there... we'll see.
Hopefully they are both in a better place emotionally now and will continue to be friends and good parents to their adorable boys. I hope nothing but the best for them!
