For those of you not fortunate enough to be in Paris last week (myself included) and to be invited to the slew of haute couture shows for the Fall/Winter 2015-2016 collections, do not fret. I bring you all you need to know about those 5 magical days.
1. Kendall Jenner apparently looks good no matter what haircut she has
La Kendall served as Karl Lagerfeld’s muse for his show which was replete with classic Chanel tweed suits and shift dresses with a few gorgeous feathered gowns thrown in for good measure. The show was staged as a casino with guests taking part in the action by playing the tables. Kendall wore a sick white suit and boots with a wedding veil like cape that kind of made me hate the stupid dress I wore to my own nuptials.
2. Raf Simons wins again
In what was arguably the most spectacularly spectacular stage set of all time, the Dior collection was held in a veritable Garden of Earthly Delights. The models all looked lovely and ethereal with soft waves and natural makeup. Pretty feminine dresses with a few edgier separates walked the runway and Simons made it clear that the only way to we should wear a gown is with a cropped sleeveless top over it.
3. Valentino designed a collection for Cersei Lannister
Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli created 55 stunning looks just for those of us going through Game of Thrones withdrawals. Mostly black with a few red and gold looks, the vibe was definitely ‘Medieval Lady of the Manor’ but somehow managed not to look costumey. I’m left wondering, ‘Why don’t I wear more gold crowns?’
4. My girl crush Chiara Ferragni slayed it
I mean Chiara, of The Blonde Salad fame, always looks pretty dope and one of the reasons I swoon over her is because she is fearless and adventurous with fashion but last week she outdid herself. Every new look was better than the last. And then there were these absolutely ridiculously rad Dior boots she wore to the show (proving that Raf Simons wins again as previously mentioned). Ben fatto, Chiara.
